My husband is 52 and I am 38. I have always had long hair and I like my hair. I will admit I look young for my age and my husband said he wants me to cut my hair off (where my neck is showing..very short). The styles he showed me are all on older people and he said he does not like my hair. We are having seriuos marital problems and he said he wants me to do this as a new beginning but I am scared to cut my hair off. I am really starting to wonder if he is just jelous and wants me to look plain. I work very hard to maintain myself and I always get compiments on my hair because I spend the time fixing it. I think the attention I get from others may bother him. But at the same time I want to make him happy. My hair grows fast, so just I just cut if off?

Sweetie. First off im sorry about your maritial problems but if the problems are because of your hair, then he really doesnt deserve you. Second, Whatever your maritial problems are should not affect your decision about cutting your hair. It is your hair, and only your hair. You have the right to choose what to do with it. As far as your husband, he should love you for you, not your hair. But if you indeed do want to cut your hair to please him, trim it. Dont cut it! Only trim what you want!

I love my hair too, and if my bf asked me to cut it, i wouldnt unless i really wanted to. But then again thats just my two cents :-)

No! No! No! This reminds me of a redhead girl I liked. She had long, wavy, beautiful hair. But the next day she showed up nearly bald! It was horrible. Maybe someone stole her hair, it was a unique natural colour.

You're in a sticky situation. He is your husband and the love of your life and he is the only man that you should be trying to impress. On the other hand, it's your hair. I think you should compromise and cut some of it off but not too short. Find a comfortable length that you'd be willing to try and let him know that you're willing to compromise (after all that's what marriage is about). Just remember, if you don't want to cut your hair to keep the spark going, there is some other woman that would be willing to cut her hair as short as he wants it or it may already be cut. You have to decide what to do for your marriage. You definitely want your husband to be attracted to you

please DON'T .... just say no !!!, its a bit rude of him to ask you this , love long hair on ladies and I'm 52(male) and its NOT going to fix your problems ....maybe he is the cause and needs to step back and think about whats wrong ... its not your hair thats for sure

You need to be supported, not forced, pressured, or criticized, even in that subtle way we all know about..

Don't cut your hair, as it is a guy's way of 'testing' his influence, or authority by changing the way you look, disregarding your own taste and will.

He just needs to break you, and the best way is messing your identity and self esteem...

Tell him that you will do that for him, when he does this for you..

*-treating you with love and respect

*-Swapping house chores for a week...or while your hair grows back...

no dont cut your hair just to make him happy,,,its your hair,i had long hair and cut it short 2 yrs ago and my husband had a fit..plus i didnt like it,,now im letting it grow back out,tell your husband to accept you for who you are.
